The Comp 292 Magnum is a good cam for that combo. I ran a setup real close to yours years ago and am building a new 400 pretty close to the same.
It's a pain in the @$$, but remove the inner valve springs during the cam break in. This way you will run less risk of wiping out the cam.
The easiest way to replace the springs with the heads on the engine is to feed nylon rope through the spark plug hole until it covers the top of the piston. This assumes that you have the piston near TDC.
This way, if the valve drops, it will only hit the rope and not cause any damage to the piston or valve.
