Don't sweat the clips; they're springs. All they'll do is move out enough to slide over the shaft, then pop back into the groove behind the teeth/splines. Just make sure that you have the handles lined up in the proper position before you push them on. Oh yeah...notice that the plastic washers aren't perfectly flat. The bulging portion goes into the hole in the door panel. Then the handle will ride flat on the opposite face. Have fun.
