No problem Phil. Thanks for the kind words. Th epart that broke on the other guys shifter was the offset stub - the guy actually snapped the hardened steel in half! The main part of the shifter was fine. I have not heard of any other issues - just the one.
The new version of the shifter is the same except is has a beefier stub to handle the heaviest abuse.

Rattus - you did the correct thing with the rubber boot - the cap on the McLeod shifter was designed to use the Tremec rubber boot.
