Why does everybody hate the new Mustang? I'm not a big Ford fan, but to me, it seems odd how some of the owners of the 2004-05 GTO take the opinions of others so personally, but are so quick to criticize the new Mustang. Aren't you doing the same thing? The new Mustang probably has a lot more in common with the new GTO than either of them have with their ancestry. That's not a criticism of either manufacturer, just an observation.

Think back to the late 1980s when you couldn't even buy a GM V-8 car with a 5-speed (Corvette excluded). One could argue that the 5.0 liter LX Mustang was the sole survivor of an era gone by. You could even order it w/out air conditioning and an optional gear ratio! Imagine that. Seems like a waste of time to compare apples (new GTO) to oranges (Orbit Orange ’70 Judge). Buy the new GTO because you like it. Who care what anyone else thinks? If you like the new Mustang, buy that instead. If you like the WRX, buy that. Is everyone out there that desperate for acceptance? Funny how we as a country pretend to value individualism, as long as it doesn’t deviate from what everyone else does.
