At those weights what grinders are you looking at? Most 4.5" grinders fall in the 3.5 to 5 lb range. The 5" are about 6 -7lb range. For general use around the home shop the 4.5" grinder is the best choice. And take it from someone who repairs power tools for a living I would look at the Hitachi line of grinders.
