I agree with your points about "build now, step up later" S-Chief...the problem is, sometimes, this mentality bites the racer in the butt. The key is, knowing your limitiations, both with your budget, and with the hardware you have. You can't reliably run 10's, or 9's with 13 and 12 second hardware, is the point I was trying to make. But you can still go and have fun, if you stay within the limitations of the equipment.
