Ok, my$.02......the new GTO is the new GTO, I guess its easy for me to accept the Australian GTO, as I am the owner of a 74 GTO. If I had a nickle for each time I heard "that aint no goat", or "nice Nova Mister", and my favorite, "why would anyone stick a TA scoop thru the hood of a nova", I could buy a new GTO for cash, and have enough $$$ left over I could build a garage just for it. When the new '04 came out I wanted to hate it just like evryone else, I was looking for throwback retro styling, and in the magazine it looked like a GP or GA. However, when it showed up at the local dealer, I liked it. Heres a few reasons,
1) in 64 the GTO was a stealthy car, it looked like the garden variety LeMans-Tempest, save for the very tiny scoops(and the '04 looked like a non threating GP but did it run like one, NO way)
2) did you ever set in one???? OH MY GOD!!!! I would love to have those seats in my GTO or any of my daily drivers as far as that goes
3) Power, can you say power, yes the '04 was lacking as compared to the newer models, but still was quick for an '04, but GM keeps improving and improving and it gets better and better

I think that the new 'stang is HOT, I like it, and its cheaper, but as previously stated setting in it it feels cheaper.
I think we need a "JUDGE" option, but I also heard that there is a large legal battle over the name The JUDGE. I heard that the rights to that name are currently owned by SLP, and that GM wanted to build a JUDGE model but since the rights had been picked up by someone else they couldnt use it, like I said something I heard may not be fact. Yes the Charger has the HEMI, and I hear a RRunner is in the works, so we need the JUDGE, or even a T-37, or something new. I agree to cater to "all" markets, have a stripper model for those of us that want it, with options or the choice not have options like, no power seats, no ac(Id want it, but I know some who dont), no power windows/locks, no Traction Control, just raw power!!!

What I think the new model needs is MORE and LESS. MORE HORSEPOWER/TORQUE, LESS CUSHY COMFORT, and over all a smaller bottom line!! Give me a stripper model with a stick and some "in your face" bright A$$ Orange paint! Some redesigned wheels that dont look like they came off a beemer, Throw a hood tach on it! Give me HONEST TO GOD RAM AIR, and hey just for some oohs and awwws at the next cruise in, give me tripower!!! yep 3 throttle bodys, heck I dont even care if the end ones work(well yea, yea I do). Keep the aero new car style, the form fitting seats(but manual, no 30 way power) but throw me some retro too. And make it affordable for who ever wants one. Some may say that cost doesnt effect sales, but tommorrow on your way to work, and home, count how many new stangs you see as compared to the 04 and up GTO, I know, I did it, I can see 10 or more stangs in one day and never ever see a new GTO. Id also like the option of having a 5th seat belt, would be alot easier to sell to a guy with kids!!!(like me)
sorry so long winded......oh and one more thing, the guy that posted the yugogto, put the crack pipe down and walk away slowly......just messin, but it doesnt look like a Yugo or a Pacer, unless maybe you are smokin crack, lol.
