Hi Rafe,
Cool story!!
I know exactly what you mean!!
One of my best friends has a 206 GTI, but he never had the guts to pull it against any american car!! Unfortunately my GTO is still in the works but I hope I can show him the real meaning of Pontiac Torque when I get my 462 done! Gotta be fun in my '68 GTO 4 speed with Safe-t-track...
What really bugs me is the fact that when we were kids he used to be pretty much a Camaro 3rd gen fan. He bought all the brochures, models, promos and stuff. But when he got to driving age all he drove was French Toast!! Renault 11 GTE, Clio 1.8 and now a Peugeot 206 GTi. Any everytime I bought another american car he's about the first in line to get behind the wheel and drive a bit. Had a '79Olds Cutlass Brougham, '77Chevy Impala, '86Iroc-z 5 speed, a rare '89GTA-5 speed, '69 LeMans, '70 GP 400/400 and many more!!
He didn't even buy the Iroc and the GTA when I offered them to him, guess he's afraid of a real V8.................
