I got my first car when I was 17. It was a 1974 Nova four door, with a straight 6. It was a rat of a car, but for $100 what could I expect. It ran pretty good, and after scaping what appeared to be dried snot off the windshield was fairly enjoyable to drive.

The thing I will remember most about that car (other than some dates with a lovely girl named Denese) were the bumper stickers on the beast when I bought it.

One said, "This may not be the Mayflower, but your daughter sure came across in it."
The other was similar, "Don't laugh, you daughter may be in here."

One day it inexplicably died while on the highway, and I left it on the side of the road. It did not matter because several weeks later I was in USAF boot camp.
