I'm running a standard gasket with TRW forged flat top pistons. I don't remember the part number but with these pistons, I am running 9.98:1 compression. Just easier to say 10.1. I do not have any detonation problems. The car runs good and stays cool. I run 93 octane with a lead additive. I rebuilt this motor about five years ago and it is running great. I had been racing the car for few years before and wanted to freshen up the motor. The TRW's looked great, so I used them again. I have a Mallory Unilite distributor run and have the timing set at 13 degrees initial and 34-35 total all in by 3100 rpm. All in all, I have been running these pistons for 11 years. I like these heads alot.
