You can make them out of a chunk of aluminum or any other material suitable to pinch between the mounts and bars. I used a couple of chunks of industrial belting material, drilled and cut easy but doesn't compress, is light, and doesn't break down from road contaminants.
It's really not a big 'detail' to setting it up - simple caveman stuff.
