I'm sure it has always been a '65. My first car was a 65 Cat that my grandfather bought new. I remember riding in the back seat looking over his shoulder at those cool round gauges on the dash and him showing me how I could not stand up when he got on it. I was probably five or six at the time. Plus I think the '65 nose is the most beautiful front end that Pontiac ever produced. I think that all of the Pontiacs of that era were works of art but the '65's hold a special place in my heart.
I am planning on getting a 421 as well but I can land a 400 pretty cheap just to get it mobile for now. Good luck with your '66.
