I'm not trying to come off as a crazy hard-ass who won't forget an ancient debt, although I guess I am.
Honestly, something else reminded me of this old deal, and I said to myself; "Self, you did a cool thing trusting that young guy who really wanted a Pontiac. I wonder if these many years later he is proudly driving it around. Driving around with a hot stripper by his side, and a fat wallet between him and the new naugahydes. And this guy is thinking to himself:
"Self, that guy from NJ was cool to trust me, and I never even paid him off, because I was really broke back then, because I spent my money on Microsoft stock. Boy, would I like to find that cool old timer and let him take my car and girlfriend around the block a few times."
So I was just hoping my good nature back then started young Eric on a path to Pontiac righteousness. And maybe he's right here on the board, or someone knows him. If I don't hear anything for a week, I'll tack his name and address to the fridge to remind me to give him a call.
