Well, I'll add my two cents. I have an '05 Torrid Red M6 with just over 1800 miles on it now and the more I drive it the more I want to because it's a great car (for all the reasons most have expressed as well as my own experience). I did get the optional grills which I think make it a bit more distinctive, otherwise I will keep it stock.
I also have a '70 GTO, 455 HO hardtop with 4 speed and A/C, frame-off restoration that I completed just over 4 years ago. It has about 2500 miles on it since restoration. It really runs great, but I prefer to drive the '05 now that I have one. Admittedly, gas prices may play a part in that decision since the '70 gets only 10 mpg and the '05 gets 18 to 25 mpg depending on how I drive it. That double overdrive sure is nice!!
Have fun with them while you can.
