Why must you start with the hard to find and expensive 455? From my perspective, a 400 block is a better foundation to start with. Want big cubes? - Buy a stroker kit for it. 400s should be a lot easier to find. I'd use my $1000 to buy a 400 and get started on building it into a 462.
