grnt37,

Diego, Judgeman, & I can all relate with you how the '70 model (non GTO) 400 4bll A-bodys were built. We've all examined unmolested examples with our own eyes.

FWIW, I started compliling the GT-37 survey close to 17 years ago to debunk certain rumors & myths.
-The rumor of only "50" '71 1/2's built was the 1st to be debunked.
-The rumor of manual trans 366 horse RAIII engine in '70 1/2 GT-37's didn't come long till the late 90's. Have a good idea who the source was. In all actuality, this rumor had to originate with bad info from someone looking at head casting numbers & nothing else. Every original manual trans '70 400 4spd (non GTO A-body) that has been found with original engine has had the 350 horse WT engine. Likewise 400 4bbl auto cars have all had the small valve 16's. Last, all California emissions does on a '70 model A-body or F-body is add a standpipe, charcoal cannister, & different number & calibration Q-jet, not a higher performance factory RA engine.
