maybe you should read your PHS docs. These weights were taken right off the AMA specification form filed by GM on 9-9-70. Jim Mattison usually includes a copy of this form in a 1971 A-body PHS packet. If you have the PHS on your cars, then you should have this info.
From page 25-26:
T-37 2-Dr. Hardtop curb weight: 3324lbs . This is a base 6cyl T-37. Next, add 292.3 pounds for the LS5 (455HO) engine. That's a total of 3616lbs.
GTO Hardtop curb weight: 3593lbs. Since this is a 400 motor, add 13.6lbs for the 455HO, that's a total of 3606. It goes on to mention that the extra coolant/radiator and dual exhaust added about 20 something pounds.
Can you tell me why a T-37 would be hundreds of pounds lighter than a GTO with the same drive train? I find it hard to believe the endura nose added that much weight. Lemans and Lemans Sport had the same front end yet these were not considered "light weight".
I'd like to see these two cars weighed side by side to see what the actual weight difference (if any) is between the cars.
