I would like to get to the bottom of this matter of Chevy engines in 1st generation Firebirds. It is documented that Firebirds raced in Trans Am with Z-28 power so that's a fact. The two unanswered questions are:
1. Did GM Canada make any Firebirds with Chevy engines? Maybe they knocked out enough to qualify for Trans Am.
2. If GM Canada didn't put Chevy engines in Firebirds, how did they trick the FIA into letting them race Firebirds with Z-28 power in Trans Am?
Just trying to get the thread going again and find the truth.
