Default BLHU - Dual Gate rebuild...

Pete posted here in an old thread I started about how I tried to (Somewhat succesfully) to get my Dual Gate tighter. He is very helpful.

I had no issues with the Ratcheting mechanism or anything cosmetic..

He essentially said there are no "wear" parts in a dual gate that can be restored in order to tighten the shifter slop. The only points that wear adn affect the movement of the handle are the Hole in the shifter and the base of the shifter. The hole becomes larger and the base wears in a convex shape.

Both of those issues might be solved by wither welding up and filing down and then replating, or just some replating might thicken things up..

I used goofy things like a sticking DIME under the shifter to take up the clearance (it fit perfectly) and a plastic bushing from the hardware store in the hole..

It works well, but wont last I'm sure..

Now there are parts up top in the ratcheting mechanism that can become broken...But we didnt discuss that.
