I think the 2801 is too small of a cam for a 455. Sure it'll give you tremendous torque- probably more than you can use! I run a 2802 in my Lemans in what is essentially a stock 455- stock intake, Q-jet, stock unported heads, log manifolds. In a 4100 lb car (race weight) it has run 13.1's @ over 103 mph all while running through 3.08 gears. Still plenty of torque!
