I think it is a fine idea, with one small problem. Until Jim Mattison steps up and blacks out the key numbers on the invoices that PHS sends out I will remain squeamish about supplying VINs to people I don't know (as should anyone in the hobby). I have aksed and I get the "oh most old cars don't have the original locks anyway" response. I have also determined Jim's legal liability in the issue to be limited to "contributing" in the event that a car is actually stolen and it can be verified that the thief used key numbers supplied by PHS. As a result I find little incentive for him to change, unless we can get enough folks to pressure him into changing. My 2 cents on a registry.....
