There are wires from the AC wiring harness which head through the firewall. I have not traced them as they enter and leave the harness in a couple different points. Here's a '68
AC wiring diagram that might help. Note that I have seen wiring in the AC circuit inwhich the colors differ from the diagram. If you want I can go out and see if I can figure where each go. Let me know.
