1157, Your guess is as good as mine. I just left that arm alone, and disconnected the rest that went to the shifter linkage. You will have to alter the column or make sure it stays in the lock position or you will not be able to get the key out of the ignition, and then when you turn on your ignition your reverse lights will be on, so you will have to address that issue.

I'm pretty sure that there is no neutral safety switch. There is a switch on the clutch pedal that interrupts power to the starter unless you have the pedal to the floor.
