for what its worth, I would recommend you replace timing chain, oil pump, rear main seal and all associated gaskets/seals.
You have the engine on a stand...removing the pan to replace a leaking rear main seal (after reinstallation) would really steam you up.
Time and money well spent to ensure the components you would need to pull the pan/engine in order to replace them are new and will be trouble free.
BTW a "greenie" scrubbing pad and WD-40 works well to remove old gasket material also.
