The GTO restoration guide is the book I have. I also bought the CD that has all the manuals. A word of caution here. It is a BIG job to take the body off the frame and restore everything and get it all back together.

I just finished messing up my 70 GTO and I can tell you a few things NOT to do. What ever you do, don't sandblast the body because the heat from sandblasting warps the body panels. As for the frame, when they sandblasted mine, they sandblasted the VIN numbers off the rear frame rail. I would suggest covering the numbers before it is blasted.

I had my frame powder coated. I don't think that is something you can do yourself because of the size of the frame and the fact that the powder has to be baked on at a few hundred degrees.

Most of the people here are very knowledgable and willing to help. Good luck with your car.
