If you want to talk drag racing you can also talk about Bill.

I'm sure that's true Jim,and I'm sure we would also be fine talking about show cars too,it's not that I despise "show cars",it's just not my primary interest in the auto hobby,but I'm not a snob about it,at least not for the most part,unless I get that "vibe" from those I'm discussing the subject with.

That's why I've always included the "concours resto" types in my comments here,they can be as big a bunch of snobs as any group,but not all are that way obviously,but the only way you can decide which is which here on the boards is how they post,and what they write.

Thing is,I'd have given the same "attitude" to anybody who gave greyno3 grief for his post likely,we all have a right to our own opinions here,regardless of how others may feel about them.

Seeing as how this has become more of a thread to display open opinions on Bill's car,I'll share my thoughts.

Now lemme start with the obvious,the dual blower thing was just not that appealing to me,suprise suprise I know,,,I'm far too practical of a person to appreciate that,I'm more of a "form follows function" kinda guy,that is,unless there's a major improvement in function,why change the form,so I had/have a much greater appreciation for the car with the single blower in place,but that's just me.

Other than that the only aspect I dont care for 100% is the color contrast between the exterior body hue and the interior/engine bay/trunk hue,but again that's just me,and folks remember this,I'm a bit color blind so the colors they actually are,and what I'm actually seeing are'nt always 100% the same,so to others that combo might look just fine,but for my taste I generally like darker interiors/contrasts anyhow.

The exterior color choice is cool IMO,no complaints there,I'd have just gone with a different hue for the rest of "contrast" in the car,which is'nt all that big a deal if you ask me.

Another thing I'd have to say I'd do differently,is I dont go for lots of polishing or chrome on my engines or cars,so I'd have left the most of that stuff either natural,satin,or painted finish myself,some "flash" is OK sure,but too much turns me off,and folks,please note this was'nt always the case either,my first car I tried to get as much "polish and chrome" as humanly possible on that car,but I kinda got over that "look",and the "race look" took over my tastes preferences.

Other than that,you get to the little "nit-picking" details,which would really just be silly to get into here.

Overall I feel it's a pretty cool ride,but as it is now,the "vibe" I get is that it just tries to hard to get my attention,and I'm a very fickle dude,I'll just pass up or ignore most anything that tries too hard to get my attention,part of the reason I've never been,and likely never will be married,nothing women hate more than being ignored when they want your attention!

Now that shy quiet chick in the back with the glasses,she'll always have me wondering what she's like...

Same deal with cars for me,I like to explore what others totally ignore.

Kinda why I can spend hours in a wrecking yard,or looking over others projects that are "in progress",while finished "primo" show cars often get a quick glance and maybe a snap or two from the digital camera for "prosperity" and then I move on.

I have a '70 lemans/GTO racecar myself,so obviously I like the body style well enough,and the craftsmanship on Bill's ride is clearly top notch,so overall I'd rate the car a "thumbs up",but I just dont need all the "visual eyecandy" myself,which should be no biggie to others here IMO.

It is his car afterall.
And plenty other folks like it well enough as is,soooooo.

Do I like pro-street cars,sure!
Do I like blowers,sure!
Do I like blown pro street cars,well of course!!!

So there ya'll go,now you have a pretty good idea of what I think about Bill's ride,and I'd say it's clearly not a "stupid" car IMHO,but I would have expected to here it called that at least a few times had I built/owned it,so I would have likely not taken greyno3's comments too personally were I on the recieving end of them,but that's just me.

The more positive attention anything gets,the more negative attention it's gonna get too,just the nature of the beast,that's why I dont really concern myself with drawing others attention much,I just keep a low profile and go about my business as I see fit,with the masses often none the wiser.

My posts here are just getting too long winded (as usual...),so this is it for me on this thread,have at it folks,and keep enjoying whatever it is in this hobby that "floats ya'lls boats",it's all cool in my book.
