Your can have "Trailer Queens" "Rairway Queens" etc but I really like the "Kings of the Road" like Big Red. At one time there was a Ford Mustang like Big Red driven by a guy with the initials REV many years ago that was a distance runner too.

Gottlieb was the guys name, wasn't it Tom? '68 Camaro (or was it a '69?). Full zoot tube chassis built for road racing, powered by a BBC. I remember reading an article on that car where he took a reporter for a ride over teh Silver State course. I remember teh reporter being told that if the tachometer ever hit something like 7600 rpm in high gear, that they were doing 220-MPH. The reporter stated he saw teh tach hit 7600 in high gear 3 times.

The car was banned from the Silver State. All the "big money players" with Ferrarri's and the like that were in the unlimited class whined and cried when Gottlieb's average speed was higher than 196 I think...a full 10 miles per hour faster than the next closest car. I think "Big Red" was only allowed to run the Silver State twice before they banned it.
