Like was mentioned a two step off the line lock is the way to go. Improves consistancy ..... just one less thing to do after the tree starts down.

On my combo high limit was set at 8,000 unless I was in need of a better qualifing position at the cost of spring life. Usually left on the high limit and shifted at 7800.

I was instructed by McLeod to do burn outs in high gear.... don't ease into the clutch.... let it fly just like you're launching it.
