There is an exhaust shop in Woodstock that has a 1969 convertable GTO ram air IV 4 speed sitting behind it for years. I talked to the owner of the car, which is not the owner of the shop, but he is friends with the shop owner, and he lets the guy let it sit back there. It has no rear end under it, and it is just sitting on dirt. It is rusted to hell and back, and would probably crumble to pieces if somebody were to try and move it. It still has the original motor and tranny though, and when I asked if he would like to just sell the drivetrain, he looked at me like I was nuts. He asked me if I knew what it was that he had, and how much it would be worth if he "fixed her up". He said it was going to be one of those projects that takes some time to get the parts for, and the money to do right. That has been 6 years ago, and the car is still there, just in worse shape if thats possible.
