Just need to find one in the ratio that suits you. Very easy swap. You will need a slide hammer to remove the rear axles. Pull them out, then remove entire hogs head/3rd member/pumpkin. Comes out, & if it does not crush you, you put your replacement in. Not the easiest things to find, but they are out there. Check with Indiana Pontiacs & see if he has some.

I like 3.08. Good hwy and street combo I think. I have 3.42, & with a 3 spd auto you just run too high RPM on the Hwy. for a longer trip. Have a 3.23 but have not tried that yet. 2.73 is OK but probably a little to high for a GP.
