My advice would be to post an ad in the appropriate 'Parts Wanted' forum and get yourself another good 1965 stock intake. That way everything goes together the way it should, just like it came from the factory.
Otherwise you end up with the headache of trying to hook up a choke, throttle bracket, etc to a Performer intake. You'll find it ends up being a lot of work and the results are not all that clean looking, plus it won't run any better than the stock intake.
You won't notice any difference by removing a measly 20# pounds off your heavy car, so a lightweight aluminum intake really offers no advantage in that respect.
