When I first bought this '64 Tempest 11 years ago it was pretty sorry looking, starting to surface rust through the paint on the roof, trunk and hood. It also had some leaf stains from where it sat under a tree. A little going over with some compound being careful not to go too far, a little wax and it looks very presentable.

The pictures make it look better than in person, but no way would I primer this car. I'd bet your paint is in just as good or even better condition than mine.
