While MLS (multi-layered steel, what Cometec sells) gaskets are the "rage", they're not necessary for such a build. The Felpro is the standard by which all others are measured. Also, the MLS gaskets have very specific surface finish requirements, and are much less forgiving than the fibre gaskets. If your heads and block have been resurfaced by a modern machine (wth a CBN or similar cutter), the finish will be fine. If they were done on an older style "broach", the RA (roughness average, formerly refered to as "RMS") will be too high for the MLS gaskets. We (CVMS) recently installed a modern surfacer for this very reason. ALL the modern engines (aluminum heads AND blocks, for the most part) use MLS technology. We couldn't get a factory "approved" finish on a Neon head with the old one. We can use them to "brush your teeth" now... (:-
