Default failing master cylinder

My 68 firebird master cylinder is starting to go out and I'm considering my options. I currently have manual drum brakes all around.
Option one: replace the master cylinder leave well enough alone.

Option two: get a disc brake conversion kit and leave it all manual.

Option three: stay with drum brakes but get some sort of brake booster for it, either
vacuum or hydraulic assist.

I was considering the disc brake conversion kits but it seems that they give folks a lot of trouble. For those who have completed a brake system upgrade that wasn't a nightmare what did you do, and for those who had a horrible exeprience with it, did the increased stopping power make it all worth it? Has anyone used a hydraulic brake booster with drum brakes?
