When I put the 455 in my 83 3/4 ton I used the motor and frame mounts out of the 75 Grandville the 455 came out of. I used an adapter plate to keep the 700r4 trans. I purchased a battery tray for a diesel since they have dual batteries I could get one for the driver's side. I used an old bare 350 block I had, bolted the engine and frame mounts to it, set it down in and bolted it to the trans, & marked the holes. If I remember right, I only had to drill one hole on each side as the rest lined up. I used 3 tube headers made for a 69 GTO and they fit great. I don't know how much difference there will be since yours is a 78 but I hope this helps and good luck with it.
