Question Fuel tank mods................

David,

Your baffle mod should work fine and a search should turn up some info, as it has been done before.

On high powered and traction limited street/strip cars, racing w/ a full tank is the best and cheapest alternative. If I had it to do over again, I would just extend my stock tank pickup to the rear of the tank, instead of sumping my GTO's fuel tank. In addition to the safety concern, parking downhill in my driveway w/ less than a 1/3 tank of fuel uncovers the sump, requiring coasting downhill and into the street to fire the motor .
