I had to stop in Lima, Ohio for the night because of a major ice storm. The next morning I found that the driver's door lock was broken when I couldn't get in. The passenger side had a newer style lock which I didn't have a key for. I finally pulled into the garage at home, changed clothes and took off for a follow-up visit to a doctor that had done some tests on me the week before. He informed me that I had an advanced form of liver disease (called PSC for short) that would require that I get a liver transplant in the not too distant future. Six months later, a doctor at University of Cincinnati hospital found cancer in my bile duct and I was referred to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. While there, I went through radiation, chemo, and in Sept. 2005, a liver transplant. During my illness and convelescence, I worked on repainting emblems, polishing stainless trim etc. And I read tons of car magazines and books. I learned how to weld, bodywork, paint, interior trim. You sound fortunate to be alive! I'd like to see more pics of your car. I think it's great that you found the energy to learn and work on it while you were getting well. I'm up the road in Kettering btw.
