That's how mine were spec'd out, 17X8" wheels. If I had to do them again I'd add 1/4" more backspace, but 4-1/2" works well, just limits the tire size a bit.
I'm running 235/45s all around, 245/45s should work in the rear but may be a bit too big up front. That extra 1/4" to tuck them in should make 245/45s a good fit all around, with the possibility of running 255/45s out back.
You might give
http://earlywheel.com/ a try, just recently bought out by a true hot rodder and might be able to take care of you better. They recently expanded their choices, 15" used to be the biggest steel wheels they'd do.
These wheels are built off of used 15" GM centers, but extra material must be welded to the outside of the wheel center to make them fit inside of a 17" wheel. I think the centers were 13.1" O.D. and the rims were 13.4" I.D.
