Chevy engines look completely different than a Pontiac. First indication was the color (chevy orange), but people have been know to paint Pontiac engines red. Other indicators are the intake, water pump hose locations, head dimensions, and valve cover dimensions. Finally, the shear size of the engine reflects that your engine is a small block chevy. FYI, not a huge deal having the Chevy engine in your car. They can run very well, but they are garlic to a vampire for the diehard Pontiac nut. Very nice car though, and the restoration looks like is was very well done.

UG, i was told it was a sb 400 it does not look look like other chevy sb350's i have had in the past.
if it is a chevy can you tell if it is a 400 vs a 350?
