Either low air or coolant flow at idle will cause the temps to go up.
As a test, try increasing idle speed a bit to improve coolant flow. AIr flow will increase slightly too, but I would think coolant flow would improve more.
Did you connect vac advance to manifold vac? It will increase timing and RPM at idle, indicating more efficiency.
