The normal plumbing is a tube from the turbo drain to a small "box" sump that has two fittings. One fitting goes to the valve cover to provide make up air to the scavenge pump and also pulls a nice vacuum in the engine. The other fitting goes from the "Box" to the scavenge pump.

Any foamy oil from the turbo "takes a ride" on the air coming from the valve cover to the scavenge pump and is drawn out of the turbo.
