What people do not understand is that the only thing the roots blower does for you is raise the pressure ratio in the engine. The HP typically stays the same as the "benefit" of the staging is consumed by the blower losses so the net effect is zero over just the twin turbo deal. May even be less as you also have the weight of the blower in the deal too.
