Personally, I think PMD got strong-armed by Olds (or bought off) to use the sliP-jim in the short wheel base cars.
But to your original question, I think the 2+2 is going to be more valuable in the future. WHY? '64 is a first-year for the 2+2. With a 4-gear it probably has buckets and a console and the Ventura-like (tri-tone) interior (not cloth + vynil like base Cats) Plus, there were only a few thousand '64 2+2s built.
I find it very interesting that PMD would even offer the 2+2 in the first place, considering what a wide range of body and trim styles you already had, plus GP was a big seller in '63 and now as a potential buyer you are looking at another Cat-wheel-base trim to choose from.
man, 1964 was a good year.
