Attached are two pictures of my auto car which show's part number and build date. There are spot welds with in a couple inch's of the location along with the Hood Latch & Spring (note second picture).

Brew, The first thing I notice is that your part # is different than mine. 73 vs.74 I guess? The orientation of the numbers is the opposite of mine, but appear to be in approximately the same location. Is the core support in the pictures the one that you want to replace?
