Dude, check out engine builder magazine Dec-07 for a how to article on machining for a Ford diesel truck seal. Rope would be easier of course and necessary if its an older stovebolt with the shimmed mains. Never the less an interesting read with Pontiac possibilities. More details at the stovebolt area on
