PRESS FIT FROM INSIDE BLOCK. PROTRUDES OUT. USE GME157C FOR EXTENSION. FITS ALL 67-79 PONTIAC V8'S
This is the part that you're talking about. It goes into the block from the inside, first. It protrudes outside the block and the dipstick goes into it. The curved piece goes through the windage tray and inserts into it on the inside of the block. If you have A/C there is an extension tube shown in my post above that goes on top of this tube and mounts to the A/C compressor bracket.
