That is Houston. It was called Freeway Drag strip, at that time, I believe.
I'm the one with the small (Cushman motorscooter front wheels and hubs, with ribbed "high-speed" boat trailer tires).
Directly behind me is Rodney Singer. I think he was from the Houston area.
Buggs Threadgill is the second car over, on the front row. He was from around Houston, too.
The beautiful full-bodied Chrysler that is showing sideways on the third row is Bobby Langley of Everman, Texas.
That car of mine was the world's quickest and fastest unblown gasser, and later, with a 6-71 GMC blower, we made the biggest improvement ever in the NHRA ET record. We dropped the record from 9.40 to 8.84. "First in the Eights on gas"
Very light car-- 1094 pounds, if I remember right. And that was with iron block and heads!
Seems like a long time ago!!
