had one in a 73 trans am.455 +.030,73 4X heads 96cc chamber-about 9.2 compression,performer intake stock 73 Qjet,headers 2.5 inch exhaust,aprox 1800 stall,3.08 gears.ran really good,but would have ran better with 3.23-3.42 gears and alittle more converter.idled with a nice lope but not what i call to bad.
i'm with Larry,unless you bump the compression,add more gear and more converter i'd go with the 2801.
