I'm not so sure about that. I was having running hot issues a while back. Tried everything to get the temps down (alunimum radiator, water pump clearances etc).

I had my Edlebrock Performer intake off for some gasket matching and noticed that water crossover holes in the intake were significantly smaller than the holes in the head and gasket. I also checked a stock intake and found the water holes were the same I.D. as the gasket. So I opened up the water holes in the intake to the same size as the gasket. Ever since I did that modification I have not had ANY running hot issues.

I'm convinced that the small water crossover holes in the intake were restricting flow and causing my running hot issues..

I bet if you match up a gasket to the Perfomer water crossover holes you will see what I mean...
