all THREE monster tachs are doule-sided taped to the back of my hood and are plated and coated like the air cleaner element is to match.
combined with a polished, wrinkle-painted chrome satin Corvair water pump on a custom, engine-turned stainless powdercoated timing cover and i'm UNTOUCHABLE at car shows!
i bring a cot so all the chicks lining up have a place to jump me; i gotta eat like 23 viagras as the show goes on just to keep up.

banter aside, no, i don't at all NEED iron roundports, nor did i call them junk; it's no mystery or secret they work, and i didn't fall off the truck yesterday; quite the opposite - i was brought up into pontiacs by three very significant guys - truman fields, chuck roberts and ronnie johnson, so i got a serious head start in this, very luckily for me.
i do believe you took offense at a generalized comment that explains my own, personal feelings, and cast nothing negative at the resto guys.
in addition, if you think pontiacs got as strong as they did by virtue of anything but hot rodders taking stuff and modifying it so it worked better you're mistaken - and same for any other brand - racing improves parts and engineering, period.
further, as i clearly stated, the car IS a clone.
this is same as phony or fake.
it's not ever going to be worth what a real one is, and because of that and that by nature of being a clone, it's already been very substantially altered from stock - so why shouldn't i make it fast?
what if i wanna paint it pink and glue blue dildos all over it?

we have a 67 'vette; believe me, you think poncho guys are bad when it comes to indignation when modding a stocker comes up, the vette guys make you all look like pygmy kittens - they're freakin' RABID.

i've seen, in my years owning the shop, people do the absolute stupidest, most pointless sh!t i've ever seen in my life to their vehicles - but it made them happy, so it works for them no matter what i or anyone else thinks.
